Bay Area’s Best Gluten-Free Eats

Here are some of my favorite, go-to, gluten-free, chain restaurants that can be found all around the Bay Area! They are all delicious and Celiac safe.

1. Sweetgreen

This restaurant is basically a fast food salad bar. Everything here is gluten free except the bread they serve with the salads.

You can pick a salad from the menu or make your own with choices of numerous toppings, including tofu (for those vegans out there), and dressings. Tell the workers that you are gluten free and they will change their gloves to accommodate. Sweetgreen is a super delicious, filling, and nutritious lunch!

2. Barebowls & Vitality Bowls

I combined these two restaurants because they both serve basically the same thing.

Barebowls and Vitality Bowls both have delicious gluten-free acai bowls with numerous toppings, as well as smoothies and juices. Vitality bowls also has gluten-free salads and gluten-free sandwiches!

3. Pressed Juicery

This is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITES. Yes, it’s labeled a “juicery,” but believe me, you can easily get a $6 meal out of these massive freezes. They have juices to-go, as well as almond drinks, lattes, and this beautiful, majestic ice cream freeze!

The freeze is made out of almonds, dates, vanilla, and cacao (if you choose the chocolate flavor). They have four flavors: vanilla, chocolate, mango, and coconut (but rumor-has-it the mango and coconut will switch back to the much-more-delicious matcha and strawberry flavors). Toppings include cacao drizzle & almond butter drizzle (HIGHLY recommend these), chocolate chips, fresh fruit, coconut, sea salt, honey, and more!

4. Sprinkles Cupcakes

Yes, yes, I know this isn’t a “restaurant” but these cupcakes are a meal in themselves! They are HUGE. Sprinkles has one gluten-free flavor: red velvet. Kara’s Cupcakes, another cupcake bakery, also has smaller gluten-free cupcakes with multiple flavors: flourless, chocolate, vanilla, and coconut.

5. Asian Box + Gracie Jone’s GF Bakeshop

Both of these eateries are created by the same woman, and they are all 100% gluten-free!

The Asian box offers shrimp and tofu spring rolls, as well as a build-your-own-box option. Choose from a base of veggies or rice, lots of toppings, a sauce, and a protein (tofu option). The bakeshop is in Palo Alto, and includes lunch options as well as giant cookies, donuts, brownies, and more! Healthy and yummy in my tummy:)

6. Amici’s East Coast Pizzeria

For a HUGE pizza, eat here! They have gluten-free pizza, made in a separate area of the kitchen from gluten. They also have gluten-free salads and chicken wings.

7. Oren’s Hummus Shop

With a variety of gluten-free options, including hummus, pita bread, salads, dessert, and more!

8. The Counter

The Counter is one of our go-to’s. They have gluten-free french fries, salads, and burgers with delicious toppings and sauces.

I hope you enjoyed these options, and let me know if you try them!
